Bishop Orchards Winery | Connecticut Wine | Wines Around the World

Connecticut wine is all about to wine made from grapes and other fruit grown in the United States state of Connecticut. The wineries in Connecticut are situated all the way through the state, together with in the two selected American Viticultural vicinity in the state.  The recent wine industry in Connecticut started with the means of access of the Connecticut Winery Act in 1978. Facts about Bishop Orchards Winery

The farm was started in 1871 by Walter Goodrich Bishop who engaged in general farming included dairy, vegetables and ice. The owner of these orchards is the Bishop Families. Keith B. Bishop is the winemaker.  They have already acquired 313 acres of grape land. A distinguished 2000 cases of wine produced by this farm. There are 6 varieties available; these are Apple, Pear, Peach, Strawberry, Raspberry and Blue-berry.
B.W. Bishop & Sons, Inc. is a family owned and operated Farm Corporation, doing commerce as Bishop's Orchards. His son Burton Walter Bishop joined him and prolonged the business. In 1909 they set out the first profitable orchard. Burton's sons Arthur F. and Charles R. united with their father in 1918 and sustained to set out more orchards on land procured in 1920 and 1926.

Bishop Orchards Wineries also received notable awards like the Gold Medal: 2009 Finger Lakes International -Wine Competition:  Amazing Grace Wine, Gold Medal: 2009 International Eastern Wine-Competition: Faulkner’s Spiced Apple Wine, Silver Medal: 2009 International Eastern Wine - Competition: Celebration 1 871 Wine & Stone House White Wine, Silver Medals: 2008 International Eastern Wine - Competition:  Apple Raspberry Blush Wine & Honey Peach Melba Wine, Silver Medal: 2007 Amenti del Vino International  - Wine Competition: Honey Peach Melba Wine and Plus 18 Bronze Medals Since 2006.
